Ahh, the house smells wonderful right now! I enjoy simple recipes at this stage in my life. So I’m only going to share easy recipes with you. I haven’t made any of them up on my own–I’m creative on paper, not in the kitchen! Some are from my mom, some are from neighbors, some are from recipe books. This one is from my mom (thanks mom!).
Beef Stroganoff – slow cook
- one lb round steak
- small onion
- 2 cans tomato soup
- 2 cups sour cream
- one tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 8 drops Tabasco sauce
With a one pound round steak, trim fat and cut into cubes. Salt, pepper and flour all sides. Toss in a skillet with hot oil. Add the onion. In a separate bowl, mix the soup, sour cream, Worcestershire sauce and Tabasco sauce. Once the onion is translucent and the beef browned on all sides, add the soup mixture to the pan. Stir, cover and lower temperature to LOW.
Either turn down to lowest setting or move to a small burner and move to the lowest setting. Cook 6 – 10 hours, stirring every hour.
Serve over linguine and enjoy!
Note – I don’t use the onions and garlic, saves time and you can’t tell the difference in taste.
