Kaye Dacus has a gift for romance. A Case for Love is no exception. The third title in the Brides of Bonneterre Series. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Here are a few amazing sentences:
Suddenly, the sight of her long legs had only the effect on him of imagining her grinding these people into the ground with her expensive, spike-heeled sandals.
His voice oozed confidence but guilt burned through his stomach.
As soon as he got out of the car, the heavy, humid air enveloped him with the sticky tang of cotton candy and perspiration.
So different from the trumpet blast of Evelyn Mackenzie’s perfume, which announced her arrival before she could be seen, created a distracting noise while she was near, and left a lasting echo reverberating around the room long after she left.
Back cover copy : The Alaine Delacroix that all of Bonneterre knows is the carefully polished image she puts forth every day on her noontime news-magazine program. When her parents’ home and small business is threatened by the biggest corporation in town, Alaine is forced to choose between her image and fighting for the life her family has built.
Lawyer Forbes Guidry is used to making things go his way. But when he’s asked to take on a pro bono case for a colleague, he’ll learn that he can’t control everything—including his feelings for his new client: Alaine Delacroix.
Alaine’s only option to help her family is hiring Forbes, but can she bring herself to trust the handsome, disarmingly charming lawyer? And will Forbes Guidry be able to make a case for love before losing his job and family? Can both trust that God will present a solution before it’s too late?
A great set up. I loved this book! The characters were so likable, yet each flawed in their own ways. And I loved the way the romance bloomed through the trials the characters went through. All confusion and misunderstandings were totally believable. I so wish this wasn’t the last book in this series. This book and series are keepers!
Heidi, it’s so cool that you’re featuring your book review of Kaye’s book on your blog. I really enjoyed Stand-In Groom and I’m looking forward to reading A Case for Love. I’ll be interviewing Kaye on my blog on Monday so if you get a chance to swing by, be sure to say hello. 🙂
